Woodworking was never just a skill in this family. It was a language. Learned standing next to a father and two grandfathers who believed that the way you built something said everything about who you were. That standard — measure twice, cut once, never put your name on something you aren't proud of — didn't come from a class or a tutorial. It came from sawdust in the air and a man with a grin on his face calling it therapy.
The Guild carries that forward. Wood is the primary canvas — but not the only voice. Solid joinery, mixed material builds, forged iron and reclaimed wood finding each other in pieces that couldn't have come from a factory because a factory doesn't have a story behind every cut.
Traditional joinery because it's honest. Mixed materials because the work demands it. Commissioned pieces because some things deserve to be built specifically for the space and the people who will live with them.
He never got to finish the dream home he designed, drafted, and drove the first nail into. And he never got to see the man his son would become. But his knowledge and spirit live on in both.
The material was always capable of this. It just needed the right hands.
